"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." -- Rogers Hornsby

"I see great things in baseball, it's our game-the American game. It will take our people out of doors, fill them with oxygen, give them a larger physical stoicism. Tend to relieve us from being nervous, dyspeptic set. Repair these losses, and be a blessing to us." -- Walt Whitman
Ha, it's opening day here and there's snow on the ground. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteMaybe tomorrow.....
Yeah, I heard about the preemtive cancellation of your game yesterday. Ah, the joys of April baseball in Chicago. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't even know why they bother scheduling a game here opening week. Even if they do get it in, it's 30-40 degrees and wet. Just open in a dome or down south and save the home opener for mid-April.
ReplyDeleteOpening day are easily the two very best words in the English language ... Orioles 10, Yankees 5, and the Orioles are in first place for at least one more day! Man do I love this country
ReplyDeleteI love any score where the Yankees are on the losing side. Go Orioles!!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of that is that Sabathia, who was brought in to save the Yanks pitching staff, got blow'd up good.
ReplyDeleteNo K's at all. How's that taste Yankees?
