Iain M Banks certainly rocks - though I'm half way through a book ATM that I'd think you'd really like called 'The Wind-Up Girl' - almost Cyberpunk and a little bit of Steampunk but mostly Genepunk....
Wunelle said, "There are no heroes here". Exactly. I'm always irritated when people speak fondly of a time and think it was idyllic, not remembering how it really was (like Republicans about the Reagan years).
ReplyDeleteCK -- I haven't read a lot of steampunk (Gibson/Sterling's Difference Engine probably it), but obviously I love cyberpunk with Gibson and Stephenson being among my favorite authors of any genre. Who's the author of the book you mentioned?
