That's the thing. If the success of an economic system is predicated on the individual behaving in a manner that is harmful to himself, the planet and others, how is that good?
It's ironic how Christians seem to be the biggest proponents of a free market economy when it encourages things opposite to the teachings of Christ. Capitalism encourages consumption, Christ ... thrift and modesty. Capitalism ... looking out for yourself, Christ ... putting the needs of others before yourself. Sounds like Christ was a Socialist. Oh, the horror!
