Journalists as Targets?

Is there some kind of pattern here?

This comes on the heels of CNN's Eason Jordan getting fired because he had suggested that the U.S. was targeting journalists. This wasn't some nutjob blogger making this suggestion but rather a 23 year veteran of the network.
