In the interest of fairness, I must admit that I'm not the most avid hockey fan. But, I do enjoy the sport. So, is it just me or is Jeremy Roenick a moron? I'm sympathetic to unions, but he's just going a bit too far.

If you follow hockey, you know a few things about JR. He is as hard a worker as there is in any sport. He works harder than almost anyone to promote the sport, and he is always honest.
The truth is that JR is frustrated with the players who are allowing the union to be broken, and the fans who don't get what this lockout was really all about.
6 mos ago USA Today published a full page article placing the blame for the work stoppage, and the NHL"s financial crisis, squarely on the shoulders of one person, Commissioner Gary Bettman. This work stoppage was never about getting the NHL's finances in order. If so, they could have done that 6 mos ago, after the Unions extremely generous luxury tax offer.
This lockout was about breaking the union. And it appears they have succeeded.
One of my buddies that's a hockey nut said pretty much said what you said. And I would have to agree with your point.
But he shouldn't have been surprised that the media would take that one comment out of context. Unfortunately, we're a sound-bite society.
