Pat Robertson

I'm tired of being politically correct about it. Pat Robertson is a moron ... and a dangerous one:

Robertson warns Pennsylvania voters of God's wrath

Some words of wisdom from Pat:

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said on his daily television show broadcast from Virginia, "The 700 Club."

"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there," he said.

These statements were in response to the school board members in this town being voted out for supporting teaching of Intelligent Design.

Pat Robertson is living proof that there is not a God. If there was, he surely would have struck Robertson down by now for being so monumentally stupid.

Our cable service runs 'The God Channel' & as I'm channel surfing I sometimes stop at the 700 Club to see what insane mutterings Pat Robertson is making these days.

Sometimes I give him the benefit of the doubt & asume he's senile. Othertimes I just laugh heartily at the things he says. Is this guy for real? Do people REALLY think like that? If he's actually representative of people in the USA & around the world then I really worry about the future of mankind.

Yes, Robertson is real. A real a**hole.

No one but his fanatical fundies pays any attention to him. Oh, and the whorish MSM. They pay attention to him, too, because, I guess, they're a**holes, too, and they like to promote their own kind.

Just saying.

I don't get why people think he can speak for God. He's lame.

That's why I like you Sadie. You are objective enough to separate your faith from those that sometime profess to represent all the faithful.

Well, frankly, he's just embarrassing. He really makes me mad with all the kooky junk he comes up with. I guess there's a black sheep in every family...

I do love the sweet smell of irony on Fridays. Thanks

Pat Robertson...one of the greatest minds of the dark ages.

Hey, Pat. The world is round...just thought I'd clue you in. Oh yeah and Pat? You might want to rethink going to your doctor since he comes from a science background and all. Just trying to help you keep it real, yo.

Q for Robertson:

Should all residents expect disaster, or are we talking all registed voters? or all those eligable to vote, or just those that voted the school board out?

On a related note: did Diebold do the voting there? And if so will they get the contract for implementing the disaster as well?

Just wondering...

If God is in fact, perfect, then no human can speak for him/her/it at all.

Eric, I could say your arse is on fire and you'd disagree. I'm not exactly sure what you find so ironic, but you're welcome.

Eric: DUH! All residents will be smited - because the one's who voted in favor if ID didn't do enough proselytizing to get everyone on the right side of Jesus.

Ok, just checking.

Sadie - at the risk of pedantically explaining something to you (again) - let me tell you what I find ironic (and keep in mind here it's Monday, and I've had a lot of coffee)

you said "I don't get why people think he can speak for God..."

What's ironic is that you and JCMasterpiece speak for god all the time. In effect, you're the pot calling the kettle black. If you would argue that you're merely relaying what the bible says, we can discuss (again) how literalism in biblical interpretaion is in and of itself an interpretation.

Prediction: Sadie Lou will complain about how acerbic I'm being, and that we should all just get along, and everyone should stop insulting her intelligence. Prove me wrong Sadie.

eric--
That's exactly what I thought you'd say. There is a huge difference between speaking FOR God and speaking OF God. I speak of God. Pat Robertson puts words in God's mouth--which the Bible warns us not to do.
There are commandments from God in the Bible to spread the gospel and be ambassadors for Christ. So I share what I know of the Bible and I share my opinions on Godly or anti-Godly matters.
That's not the sam thing as saying God said something that He hasn't already stated in His word...
Pat Robertson can not possible know what God was or wasn't doing on any manner.
Why?
Because Pat Robertson isn't God--thankfully.

Thanks Sadie. You and I disagree about how much parsing you're doing on God's word, but I agree with you in principal.

BTW, DemocraticUnderground pointed out something that I thought was funny. ID proponents have been saying that the 'creator' in their 'theory' isn't sectarian in any way. So, as DU points out, why is Pat Robertson involved?
