Just like the beginning of every Cubs season, hope springs eternal. Let's hope the results are better than the previous century for the Cubbies.
(but at the same time, let's hope the Cubs keep losing)
Yes, I'd be much more inclined to root for my country than the Cubbies. I'd be more inclined to root for any team before the Cubbies (perhaps only the Yankees being lower on the totem pole in my eyes).
Somebody once said that rooting for the Yankees was like cheering on British Imperialism. Not in a good way, I would presume.
