First, it's horrible public relations. Picking on Batboys says, "we don't know what the hell we're doing", and pisses off he fans. And when your franchise is is a city where your biggest fan base (Latin Americans) can't afford to go to your games, you can't afford to allienate the fans who can. This tells the paying fans that managment doesn't get it, and there are dark days ahead.
The new Marlins ownership bought a team with a very talented young pitching staff and a very saavy GM. However, you can already tell they are gonna find a way to screw things up.
